What a hopeful grim beautiful commemoration of the Vincennes atrocity. I can’t believe we gave medals to the crew. That’s so stupid.

Good to read here again, my friend. Keep the faith. Do not lose hope.

How’s the new camp? How’s the view?

Here’s an annual festival near here. Art oriented event amidst a free expression environment.

    Burning Man Festival

Kilroy, I went through the Vincennes episode, here is GWT, sorry GWB-the First- defending Vincennes in the Security Council.
The view is actually not bad: I can see the sunrise and the sunset over the gloomy city 🙂 You’ll come and see for yourself.
Thank you BB2 🙂 also for reminding me of the burning man.
I came once across his website a few years ago through some blog. Going through his site again right now. In 2007 his art theme was the Green Man. (The 2008 theme is the American dream.)

On 3 July 1988, Vincennes, under the command of Captain William C. Rogers III, shot down an Iran Air Airbus A300B2 over the Strait of Hormuz, killing all 290 aboard. According to the US government, an inexperienced crew mistakenly identified the Iranian airbus as an attacking F-14 Tomcat fighter.

    Good grief!

How do mistake a fighter with an air liner?

Because it’s in the sky and it moves?
