Arundhati Roy has released a new book. Read more
Here is a review and a link to an interview with the author, and another interesting review at Small Talk.

From Confronting empire: Our strategy should be not only to confront empire, but to lay siege to it. To deprive it of oxygen. To shame it. To mock it. With our art, our music, our literature, our stubbornness, our joy, our brilliance, our sheer relentlessness – and our ability to tell our own stories. Stories that are different from the ones we’re being brainwashed to believe.

The corporate revolution will collapse if we refuse to buy what they are selling – their ideas, their version of history, their wars, their weapons, their notion of inevitability.

    Have you read this, Homeyra?

No, I haven’t but I have read almost all that is available online by Roy, also some of her interviews with Barsamian which are apparently included in the book.
Imho, the poet in Roy describes beautifully our era.

Are you unable to get your hands on these books, Homeyra?

The book industry is rather a dynamic one over here, but one must be careful to select good translations. Lazy me, discover enough things online. I go less to the bookstore, specially as a few traveling friends bring always a good load of books that I can borrow. As far as I know there isn’t any foreign publishing house represented in Iran, the available foreign books are mainly from publishers who participate in the annual book fair.
